The mathematics department teachers all teach with Smartboards. There is an emphasis on both student learning and student engagement. The SmartBoards are meant to be highly interactive and the teachers here at Ancaster High School strive to have multiple students at the SmartBoard every day.
The teachers using the Smartboards posses a very high skill set and have acted as presenters at board wide professional development activities. The mathematics staff act both as teachers and facilitators of the technology.
Due to the fact that course notes have now become electronic, many of the teachers with Smartboards post their notes on Desire2Learn for students to access outside of the classroom. This aids in situations where a student in absent or just needs a refresher on the course material.
